How Do Freelance Programmers Start Out ?

This I one giant question and a quest I am in search of at the moment. I have some skills and I have the means to start working as a programmer/designer. I need to find the clients.

While working for a web design company my work load is very focused on imputting content into websites and time driven. Starting out as a freelancer I am finding the means and rules that a businessman needs to aquire. Issues relating to Tax and invoicing are all new to me and I need to find the answers out soon…

Networking seems to be a great start… Friends and colleagues have a fountian of knowledge… That is where I will be starting….

Eastern Columbia Building

The Eastern Columbia Building is a thirteen-story building located at 849 S. Broadway in the Broadway Theater District of downtown Los Angeles, and is considered by many to be the most beautiful of Los Angeles’ historic buildings, as well as its finest surviving example of Art Decofollowing the 1969 destruction of Richfield Tower. It is easily spotted from the Interstate 10 due to its bright turquoise color.

The building sits just across the street from the restored Orpheum Theater.
